New gallery folders created for widgets from other engines. The gallery won't grow fast enough unless we let some other widgets in from newer engines. Do feel free to submit your Xwidgets, Rainmeter and QT/KDE widgets here too.

Hello! I created this group as I know there are still a few Yahoo Widgeteers out there and so this is a place for you to come and submit your widgets. The Yahoo Widget engine is still the most elegant, reliable and easy way to create desktop widgets for Windows XP, Vista, Win 7 and 8. All you need is photoshop and a script which you can get from here lightquick.co.uk/downloads/pho… - and you can create widgets from any image almost automatically.

With a tiny bit of knowledge regarding javascript you can make the various bits and pieces in your image actually do things.

Can't help I am afraid - it probably needs information from a specific location that just isn't there any more. It is entirely possible to open a widget using the widget converter tool, to extract and see what is inside and then change the code to make the thing work again.

It does take some coding knowledge unfortunately.

After you've simply dragged the widget onto the converter, it extracts the javascript and XML code and the image files used by the widget into a folder. Once you have these it is possible to open them using a code editor and start to look into the reason why it isn't working anymore. You'd need javascript skills and an understanding of data feeds. You need to find someone who'd be willing to do it for you.

Yahoo widgets has no connection with  the email system that they run. Yahoo widgets is just another software tool that Yahoo bought, used to be called Konfabulator.
